Sort by name is an absoulut standard and request for an email program. Without this we cannot use it for business. Impossible.

Groups is all but useless r/n because of this missing capacity

we should be able sort any way we want to thats why Google is so easy to use. I might drop proton for this very reason I have 600+ contacts and numerous groups

I would like to filter my contacts by last name and not the default first name .

I would like to be able to select whether I file my contact list by first name or by last name. Currently I can only find where contacts are filed by first name.

Proton Contacts is an absolutely great service thus far, except some improvements would be fantastic. Certainly, some of these thoughts are shared by multiple people, and some of them may be new to our brainstorm...
- create mobile apps for Android, iOS, and Linux
- create desktop apps for Linux, Mac, and Windows
- add multiple name entry fields, as opposed to just one, including for example, nickname, title, first, middle, last, Jr./Sr./etc.
- add ability to sort contact list by either first or last name
- add street address line 2

do not understand why sorting of contact names cannot be done on surnames.

The only way I can do this now is to reverse the placement of the names when entering them, but since there are over 100 already entered that is not a convenient method. There should be a means to sort names with either option: by last name or by first name.

It drives me BONKERS that Protonmail (which we LOVE otherwise), can only short contacts sorted by FIRST NAMES. We're not 12 years old. I have many contacts and NEVER, EVER think to look them up as "Bob" or "Sally." PLEASE ADD user-definable sorting categories to Contacts.

Ohne eine Sortierung nach Nachname, wie in ALLEN anderen Mailprogrammen schon ewig Standard, ist ProtonMail/Kontakte für Europa nicht zu benutzen und damit völlig wertlos.
Da spielt es auch keine Rolle, ob das in anderen Ländern anders gemacht wird.
Aber offenbar wird hier nur ein bestimmter Markt bedient. Wir kleinen, dummen Europäer können zwar voll bezahlen, bekommen aber nicht die gleiche Leistung. Schade.

I think this is a serious issue. Everybody's phone book is arranged by last name. A lot of times you may not even know the first name. Having to type in a search each time is nuts.
