Conversation view switchable from oldest/newest to newest/oldest
If you are in conversations view, let the user decide whether to sort from oldest to newest and vice versa.

Why can't we have such a simple UI option to match the VAST majority of email clients? I've missed countless emails in a thread now because I am not used to scrolling to the bottom for new emails.

It's insane that this request is from 2016 and still hasn't been so much as looked at, while a similar recommendation from last year with far fewer votes got a comment from Proton, so at least someone saw them. The web app needs this.

The ability to permanently present emails in “Oldest First” order as can be done in Outlook.

Please implement this. I'm in Proton beta, which is a massive improvement overall. In the conversation view, it is still always newest on the bottom -- even if the display setting for the message list is newest on top.

This is implemented, but it's sadly not remembered (you have to re-select it each time). I would really like the setting to be remembered (globally or per-folder—either way), but in the meantime, you can sort oldest-first by clicking "More" in the toolbar, then "Date: Old to new".

2 years later and this seemingly obvious, simple feature is still not implemented as far as I can tell.

Straight up, low hanging fruit. This is how the mailbox is sorted (new messages at the top of the list), don't know why conversations wouldn't have the same layout.

This is really needed, and it would probably be simple to do!
I have long conversations spanning dozens of messages. It's very impractical to scroll all the way down to see the new messages. Especially since every new message quotes the previous replies in the conversation, which means every new message becomes longer.
It would be much easier if new messages were always displayed at the top (newest to oldest order).
