Suggestion for enhanced email flexibility and username changing
Hello ProtonMail community,
I hope this message finds you all in good spirits. I'm writing to share a suggestion regarding the functionality of ProtonMail, a service that I've come to appreciate and rely on.
I would like to see the 'Easy Switch' option, currently available to users migrating from Google to ProtonMail, expanded and made less restrictive. This would allow users to perform similar actions with different email services.
I also suggest extending this feature to users who wish to migrate to another ProtonMail account or to a different email service and also the opposite (by opposite i mean different email providers being able to migrate to proton just like Gmail users).
Specifically, I'm interested in a more flexible system that would empower users like me to transition to a different email service provider while retaining both current and future emails. This includes those received after such changes are made, similar to what's possible in Gmail with its 'Easy Switch' feature, which offers automatic forwarding.
Again, I'm aware that ProtonMail already provides some import and forwarding features, but they appear to be tailored to specific scenarios. For instance, 'Easy Switch' is currently available only for users migrating from Gmail to ProtonMail. Therefore, I'd like to propose an expansion of these features, offering more comprehensive control and flexibility over our email accounts.
Something I've also been thinking is considering the addition of a feature that allows users to directly change their username within ProtonMail, this is another thing that would enchance users experience even more and make ProtonMail much more flexible and fun to use!
I believe that these enhancements would not only make ProtonMail an even more attractive and user-friendly platform but also cater to the ever-evolving needs of its customer base.
Warm regards,
Alice
