Unlimited custom domain forwarding addresses
TLDR: ProtonMail offers you to pay them to provide THEIR E-MAIL SERVICE on YOUR OWNED DOMAIN and then acts like they own your domain and limit the amount of addresses you can use on your property. Custom addresses need to be unlimited.

ProtonMail is an E-MAIL SERVICE PROVIDER.
As a base service, they let you taste test how it feels to choose them as your trusted E-Mail service provider. They will provide you an E-Mail from one of THEIR domains, where they provide the E-Mail service for themselves. As they do this for free, they will limit you to 1 E-Mail on THEIR domains and 10 random aliases on THEIR domains. This is great!
If you then decide you want to use ProtonMail as your trusted E-Mail provider, you would want to register YOUR DOMAIN with their E-MAIL SERVICE. You will have to pay for your Domain separately. The sheer infinite naming possibilities under your domain are all YOUR PROPERTY.
To receive the E-MAIL SERVICE to deliver E-MAILS to YOUR PROPERTY, you will have to upgrade to a paid plan. This is fair!
HOWEVER, now that you have chosen ProtonMail as your E-Mail service provider for YOUR domain, they will limit the amount of E-Mails you can create for YOUR PROPERTY to 10. You can either have 10 on THEIR domain or YOURS. It’s 10 in total. So you pay them to be your Mailing service for your property, but them refuse to deliver to more than 10 addresses!
So they limit what you can use from THEIR property, which is fine, but then also enforce that limit onto YOUR property after YOU PAY FOR THEIR SERVICE ON TOP OF YOUR PROPERTY.
This is unacceptable. You HAVE to let me freely use MY PROPERTY if I pay you for your service. Otherwise I can’t use your service because you devalue my property. You reduce my sheer infinite property down to a size of 10.
I would love to use and pay for your service, if you would actually fully service my property.
