    This is a security issue - forcing users to click a link just to see where it goes is not good.

    I am assuming this is for the newly released Proton Mail client for desktop, so I voted for this improvement.

    Of course a web browser has out-of-the-box functionality for 'previewing' a hyperlink in any webpage, including at mail.proton.me, with a mouse over. But within the desktop app (specifically the Windows version) there is no option to see the URL behind a hyperlink.
