  1. Multi-User support for PLUS subscription

I have a PLUS subscription with a custom domain for my 5 family members. I would like them to gain access to their email separately, but from what I understand this requires a visionary subscription. I would like to have this feature included in the PLUS subscription for up to 5 users (same number of users as email addresses).

Thanks for raising an idea on UserVoice, as per the rules on the front page:

Please re-raise your idea in English.

  3. Improve Default Address Handling for Forwarded/BCC Emails

Currently, the "Default Address (Custom Domain)" works only when emails are sent directly to it or to linked catch-all addresses. If the domain's MX does not point to Proton (e.g., it points to a forwarding service), Proton uses the actual recipient address (usually @proton.me) instead of my Default (Custom Domain) address when replying.
Note: In this scenario, it does not work even if the Custom Domain address is already set as the Default.

Example: domain.com points its MX to a mailing list, which then forwards emails to my @proton.me and @gmail.com mailboxes. When a…

  5. Send from any address of custom domains if catch-all in enabled

It is now possible to send an e-mail using any alias account+alias@customdomain.tld
It doesn't seem possible at the moment to send from anything@customdomain.tld unless an address was created for it, regardless of catch-all.

I wish that if I can receive to any address using a catch-all, to reply from any of those addresses.

  6. Custom inbox layout

In order to make the transition easier from such mailboxes such as Gmail, having options for the mailbox layout would help.

We could have layout options such as "Unread - starred - read" or "Starred - unread - read" to keep what's important to you at a glance.

A well structured inbox makes for better productivity and ease of use, and therefore makes the product more attractive, or at least on par, with its competitors.

  7. Inbox folders, custom sorting rules (somewhat like GMail's inbox tabs)

GMail offers a very useful tool for sorting emails, through the inbox folders (Primary, Social, Promotions, Updates, Forums, etc)

It would be awesome to have a similar, perhaps more customizable feature in ProtonMail! Perhaps the ability to create and name custom folders and set rules to direct emails containing <x> string in the subject, body, and sender address to a designated folder. Perhaps this could even be done through tags, by implementing an auto-tagging feature, or both the former and latter.

  8. Use SimpleLogin aliases in Proton Calendar

I have been using SimpleLogin aliases with a custom domain and forwarding those emails to Proton Mail, which has been working fantastically. The only downside is that I cannot use these aliases for calendar events, which is a major usability issue. In order to actually use Proton Calendar I would need to expose my actual email address which defeats the purpose of using SimpleLogin in the first place. I would love to be able to have Proton Calendar integrate with SimpleLogin aliases.

  9. Custom recurrence rules

I was not able to import a following recurring event via an .ics file:

    BEGIN:VEVENT
    DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20250124
    DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20250125
    RRULE:FREQ=MONTHLY;BYDAY=FR;BYMONTHDAY=23
    RRULE:FREQ=MONTHLY;BYDAY=FR;BYMONTHDAY=24
    RRULE:FREQ=MONTHLY;BYDAY=MO,TU,WE,TH,FR;BYMONTHDAY=25
    SUMMARY:Paycheck
    END:VEVENT

I would like to have a possibility to import this. This is supported by e.g. Google Calendar which I have replaced with Proton Calendar.

More broadly this is to have support for importing recurring events with "custom" rules that wouldn't be possible to be created with the Calendar's UI.

  10. Custom Profile Picture+ HTML Email Designer

I would like to suggest adding custom profile picture support in Proton Mail (with optional privacy-safe avatar or Gravatar integration). This is essential for professional branding and identity.

Additionally, Proton Mail Plus users should have advanced HTML formatting support, including custom HTML/CSS email design, reusable templates, and a proper signature builder. This would allow business users to create professionally designed emails while staying within Proton’s privacy ecosystem.

These features would greatly improve Proton Mail’s competitiveness for freelancers, startups, and business users.

  11. favicon / email sender icon

Favicons / email sender icons for incoming emails are already displayed in the Proton mail web app and iphone app (if the sender has set such an icon, of course), but I haven't found a feature to add such an icon for my outgoing mails (I use a custom domain name). Any possibility to add such a feature?

(please correct me of this is something that has to be set somewhere else, I haven't found any info about that)

  12. Custom button in Proton Mail for Identity and addresses

    Hello,
It would be nice to have faster acces to option to check my Identity and addresses, instead of going to Settings - All Settings - and Identity and addresses. Maybe a custom button underneath Imbox,Drafts, Sent...
Or better yet somewhere to be listed when you click on the upper right profile icon.
Sometimes I can't remember what Identity and addresses I created...

  13. Add "Custom" Labels for Contact Details in addition to or instead of "Others"

Most Contact apps and programs offer the ability to add emails and phone numbers to a contact with a custom label, e.g. "email for ...".

Right now Contacts can only have these labels for email:

    - Email

    - Work

    - Home

    - Others (Basically acts as the catch-all label, which isn't useful at all)

So yeah adding custom labels would greatly improve the usability of Proton Contacts

  14. ICS import fails when VEVENT uses custom TZID ("Customized Time Zone")

    Description

Importing an .ics file into Proton Calendar fails when a VEVENT references a custom timezone (e.g. "Customized Time Zone").

This appears to happen when the TZID parameter is used directly in event fields.

    Example

Example snippet from the ICS file:

    BEGIN:VEVENT
    DTSTART;TZID=Customized Time Zone:20260316T083000
    DTEND;TZID=Customized Time Zone:20260316T093000
    SUMMARY:Example Event
    END:VEVENT
    Expected behavior

    Proton Calendar should either:

resolve the custom TZID via the VTIMEZONE definition in the ICS file, or

fall back to the provided UTC offset.

    Actual behavior

The import fails because the custom timezone cannot be processed.

    Context

    ICS files exported from…

  15. Expand the limit on levels of sub-folders within ProtonMail

The current implementation of folders in Proton Mail allows for top-level folders and two levels of sub-folders beneath these.

I can understand that allowing an unlimited level may not be practical, but an increse from 3 to 5 levels would make it much more useful for sorting.

  16. Messages sent via Forward Rule have no sent logs to review

As an Unlimited user I'm unable to see any way to review logs of what's been sent. I am an Unlimited user, but it sounds like I need an additional premium Mail subscription for this functionality. This seems like very basic functionality that should be included for the price of Unlimited.

  18. Allow shared addresses within an organization

I would love to be able to share email addresses within an organization. Like have an "all@custom-domain.com" that sends to multiple people within the group. (Fastmail has this)

It would be nice, for example, to have the catch-all email address delivered to multiple users' inboxes.

  19. Add Advanced Sieve Extensions: Mailbox, Notifications, Body Filtering...

Proton Mail's Sieve implementation is missing several powerful RFC-standard extensions that would unlock advanced email automation.

Here are the key missing features: Mailbox Creation and Checking (RFC5490, RFC9042) - Automatically create folders and organize emails by sender domain without manual setup.

Notifications (RFC5435/RFC5436) - Send SMS or email notifications when specific emails arrive instead of just filing them.

Body Content Filtering (RFC5173) - Filter emails based on message body content, not just headers, for smarter spam detection.

Edit Headers (RFC5293) - Modify or add custom headers to emails as they arrive.

File Carbon Copy (RFC8580) - Keep automatic copies of…

  20. Where is "dedicated customer support"?

Where is the dedicated customer support advertised on the pricing page for Proton Unlimited?

If it exists, the feedback would be to make it more accessible.
