How can we improve Proton Drive?

  1. Customizable Proton Drive Sizes

    Hi! I'd like to see a feature for subscriptions in which one could choose to add more storage for Proton Drive itself, instead of having to add users just to get more storage.

    The web app works well so far, but a more refined UX (and UX writing) would be needed once its user base expands. Overall, good work, great rebrand.

  2. I want to move from Google Drive to Proton Drive, BUT THERE IS NO DESKTOP APP

    Not a new idea, just get this done, so I can move my stuff off of security hole Google Drive.

    Some strange Ukrainian translation.
    "вивантаження" should be changed to "завантаження"
    "вивантажити" to "завантажити"
    "тека" to "папка"
    and so on.

  4. SMS/Email with one-time password to access files at ProtonDrive

    Would it be possible to define a target email address or mobile number of the person receiving files from ProtonDrive being shared, so that a one-time password could be send to them before they access the files, monitoring the access, and making sure there is only one access, for example.

  7. Improve filename visibility in Tile view

    In Tile view, long file names are cut off, making it very hard to determine the file names. User has to switch to List view constantly.

    Please consider expanding the filename field in Tile view, and reduce the thumbnail image to improve usability. (Tested file type is MS Word Docx)

  11. „Connector“ to use other Apps with Proton Drive

    There are so my Apps out there where you can sync your data to a public or personal cloud for saving money on a plan or (much better ->) increased privacy. So please build a feature to use Proton Drive as a sync destination instead of DropBox, Nextcloud etc.

    I have used Protonmail for some years and have a paid solution now were drive is included. But I will not sign up for VISIONARY and the reason is Proton Drive.

    It lacks a proper way to upload or transfer huge folders. As it is know it stalls and takes forever.

    For instance an app like the one MEGA.nz offers. Its super transparent how your upload is doing and it rarely fails. I have used it hundred of times.

  14. File Upload Transfer Hide Word "Aborted"

    So when I upload a file that already exists and I select "Skip", instead of ignoring it, a counter "x aborted" is displayed in the file transfer title. I find this confusing because at first it seems that a transfer has failed. I think if the label "x files are uploaded" counts down when "skip all existing images" is selected this would be sufficient, the label "x aborted" is in my opinion unimportant.

    1. put "Duplicates found" dialog at the end of the process or let the rest of the queue run.
    -> it can be very frustrating when you fill your drive and come back after 8 hours of sleep to find out from the expected 120GB only 3 were uploaded and then the upload was interrupted because of a file that was apparently already there...

  18. Family sharing

    Add the ability to have a family plan for Drive like what Google Drive has. I currently have a family plan with Google drive and would like the ability to do that with Proton Drive which will allow me to finally break away from google completely.

  19. File index for proton drive mobile apps

    Instead of having a list of pages in a file to swipe through, I would like to see an index of all the pages in a file for the mobile apps. This is possible if you preview a pdf file (and other file types?) in the web version of proton drive. Basically you would have chapters/sections and then once you tapped on that chapter/section you had a list of all pages. When you tap on a certain page the app would take you to that page.

  20. Keyboard shortcuts for powerusers

    Have a tighter integration for keyboard shortcuts:
    - Navigation with keyboard shortcuts should be possible (arrow up, down, Enter to open a folder
    - F2 for renaming folders
    - Copy/Cut/Paste
    - Share files
