Pretty good open source implementations of this technology already exist (https://github.com/edgelesssys/privatemode-public).
There is really no excuse not implementing this as proper cryptography on all levels should be one of Proton's main goals.

I would really like WebDAV support for my GrapheneOS backups, which currently rely in another service.

As a Proton Family subscriber for many years I was always under the impression that Linux would be a priority for a privacy first company.
For my non technical family members and friends that I have recommended Proton in Linux to, I have sometimes employed workarounds like rclone/ celeste, because I thought that a full Linux client was very soon on it's way. I can not tell you how much pain this has caused.
Personally, I do not use Proton Drive at all, due to lacking Linux support; which means that Proton Drive does not add and value to my subscription, which makes it harder to justify.

I agree that this is important. While PGP is Proton's choice for good reasons, S/MIME is much more commonly used with Businesses and in the Enterprise.
Leaving the authenticity that valid S/MIME signatures provide on the table, would be a little negligent. -

Yes, one hour seems arbitrary as I have personal video meetings which exceed this limit.
As I am paying for Proton Family this seems not fair.
I have already used other software for meetings because I was not sure about whether I would exceed that limit.
