A lot of calendar apps have a continious view, where you can scroll through a unified, continious list of all events sorted into each date. You can usually jump to a specific date using a date picker or scroll left of right on a calendar row on top of he view.
That would make the calendar much more usable in my opinion and save a lot of time.
