I agree, but I think there should be a basic version available for the lower subscriptions like Mail-Plus.
This basic version only supports plain text notes (with possibility of adding url's and bullit lists. And (very important to me) checklists. Just a list of items with checkboxes. Nothing more. Like a kind of to-do list that you can check off.
Google Keep is the only Google product that I haven't found a good alternative for, thus far. And I tried dozens. The ease of use, clear interface and simplicity of Google Keep is unparalleled.
Mind that checked off items should grey out and move to the bottom of the list and NOT stay in place. (configurable?) And when re-checking them, they should resume their original position within the list and not be added to the top or bottom of the list.This basic version doesn't really need any advanced features like calendar integration or alerts or anything. Just a simple note and list keeper. But if you upgrade to unlimited or higher, then I can imagine it would have more features.

This is exactly what is making me indecisive and holding back to upgrade my proton account right now. I want the mail plus features, but with more storage for drive than the shared 15GB. But 200GB is not needed, 50 or 100GB would suffice. And I really don't need the wallet, the VPN, Meet or LUMO, none of that I use.
Just email plus, calendar, drive with 100GB and maybe Pass.Arnout

Pages, Page breaks, Page numbers, Page header & Footers, these are all critical if I'm ever gonna migrate from Google Docs to Proton Docs.
Right now, Proton's text editor feels more like notepad. It's just not enough for my administration.And don't get me started on the tables in docs. Atrocious!

Google Keep is probably the app I use most in the Google family. I would love a Proton variant of this. Stand alone, not tied to Pass or any other service

The idea is good, but I don't want it to be integrated in Mail or calendar. I would prefer (strongly) it to be a separate app, exactly like Google Keep.
Also, in my experience, it doesn't need so many features, bells & whistles. Keep it simple, just note keeping for things you don't want to forget and quickly want to make a note for. reminders, basically same as a note, but with a timer/alarm. And most important to me, checklists. A list of checkboxed items that you can tick off. For groceries, shopping, todo lists. Checked off items should move to below the list and not stay in place. Re-checked items should resume their original place in the list.
