1. Monthly payments for yearly plans

   Spending close to €200 for a 2 year unlimited plan in one payment right now is difficult for many people, and I believe you would get much more uptake if you allowed purchase using a monthly installment method.

   I, for one, was about to buy your Proton Unlimited package until I discovered that I'd have to spend almost €200 in one go to get it.

   Offering a monthly payment subscription option is a sound business model in these times of financial strain, so please can I ask that you at least consider the idea?

2. Log in to User Voice with Proton Account

   When I was looking for a feature within ProtonMail I came across this platform for users. The first surprise was that I needed to create a new account to contribute to this platform while I am already have a ProtonMail account. So, my first suggestion for this platform is that everyone with a ProtonMail account also can use their ProtonMail account for this platform.

   Another item is that there is no general welcome or explanation to this Uservoice platform. It would be nice (and helpful) as a new user of uservoice to know a bit how it works here.

   Then I am surprised about the limit of 10 votes. Has everyone ten votes? No matter if they are free users of paid users? (And is there even a requirement to have a ProtonMail account for this website?).

   Another item is that I find unhandy that after you search for ideas there are no filters or sort options. When you have 600+ ideas related to the words you were looking for it would be for example nice to see the top vote ideas because their might be a chance that someone else has the same idea. Or maybe see the most related topic first.

3. Switch from .me to .com or vise versa

   I created a new account and accidentally chose .me when I prefer .com
   I'd like to be able to change this feature in my email settings.

   Also, I have another account that I wanted to switch to .me from .com.

   Please add the option to swtich between .me and .com and vise versa.

4. More free filters

   Add more free filters like at least 3 because free accounts only have 1 available filter and paid accounts have unlimited. I've also seen similar posts on here from 2016 of this issue and free accounts still only have 1 filter.

5. Seperate ProtonMail & ProtonVPN usernames

   PROTONMAIL PLUS USER

   I can't believe I have to ask ProtonMail for this!

   Decent VPN companies don't even let you set a username to avoid human error in leaking personal identifiable information, instead, they give you randomized usernames, take Mullvad as an example.

   Instead of going in that direction, ProtonMail does the opposite, but far worse.

   As a PM user, you are stuck with the same username, forever. It's a permanent record. Having the same username forever for e-mail and VPN is a security nightmare.

   Issues:
   1. If you use ProtonVPN, this means you are using ProtonMail too.
   2. Imagine using the username to login to ProtonVPN in public with prying eyes on each corner.
   3. If your VPN is hacked, your email is hacked too.
   4. If you share your VPN with your family/friends, they already know your ProtonMail username and if they're hacked, you pay the consequences.
   5. What if you regret putting PII in your PM username and you want to change that, well, ProtonMail says NO.

   AND MANY MORE DISASTEROUS SCENARIOUS.

   Now, understandable, ProtonMail it's a for profit company but they like to say they care for your privacy/security (hmmm), the only reason why they're doing this is to make you not share your VPN account with family/friends to maximize profits. Which compromises your security/privacy for profit (hmmm). Sorry, I can't think of any other reason.

   Anyway, possible solutions:

   1. Make it possible to change the Proton username for all services. (CAN BE HARD BUT DOABLE)
   2. Ability to add up to 3-5 more usernames to all Proton services and users can chose which one to use home and which one outside when they login. (EASY)
   3. Make VPN login credentials completely randomized (optinally rotatable) like Mullvad or ProtonVPN OpenVPN credentials you have. Again, I can't believe I'm saying this, it should be standard. But I have to put my FIRSTNAME+LASTNAME whily trying to protect my privacy! facepalm. (EASY)

6. A cancel auto renewal option

   Auto renewal is always on and you can’t turn it off. If you try to, it will remove the plan you already have. So I’m screwed

7. Different passwords for mail, vpn, and drive

   If I am to use ProtonMail, ProtonVPN, and ProtonDrive on a number of devices, it seems to me that having all of these secured by a single passphrase is an unacceptable risk. Having the option to secure each of these with a different password would be a significant improvement. Indeed, without this, I think I will be very reluctant to use all of these and rely upon them.

   It would be the ideal membership for those who just wanna support you but don't need any features that are not already in the free account. And I'm sure it would interest lots of people, €5 is a little steep for email when you don't need anything fancy and just appreciate the privacy ; )

9. personalized pricing plan

   An option to choose exactly what the plan should include and what is not needed, with adjusted pricing.
   I for example would be interested in IMAP/SMTP and one or two additional addresses, 5 however seem a bit too much. I also don't really need the increased message limit, custom domain, auto responder, storage increase and additional support.

   There is already the option to get more addresses or more domains, its only missing the option for less of those.

    I love protonmail but I am poor. $4.50/month is too much

    1 year premium is €40. Offer 2, 3, 5 year plans for more discount.

    I would buy five years upfront for $2/month

11. Offer White labelling for Proton Mail

    I would love to be able to brand the login for my company protonmail account and unify the experience by letting my employees log in to their email by going to mail.mybrand.com

    Or to quote one of your main competitors:

    "When you order the whitelabel upgrade for your Premium account you can activate the Tutanota login on your own domain (a sub-domain), change the look of Tutanota according to your needs (e.g. corporate identity) and create contact forms for your clients. If you send confidential messages to external recipients, those recipients are also directed to your whitelabel domain."

12. Duo 2FA

    I would like the ability to use push notifications as my 2FA. It is a no brainier as this would also allow for yubikeys. It would also allow enterprise to better keep track and make use of this service. Lastpass supports it fully and it is fantastic. I go to log in and if I did not set it to allow this device for 30 days I click accept on the notification on my phone. Much easier and more convinient than putting a pin in every time I log in. With you lacking support with bridge this is the only barrier to my daily use of this service as it is an absolute pain to log in when it does not need to be.

    Hi,

    I'm part of a non-profit organization which can't afford a ProtonMail Plus plan.

    We just need more labels and more storage than the free tier allows. We don't need aliases, custom domains, or IMAP. I'm sending it here because I can see in our mailbox that we're not the only non-profits using Gmail.

    I should also highlight that some "non-profits" are probably illegal with repressive governments. (Then they're not, on the legal field, non-profit, but they deserve encryption no less than myself.)

    So various ideas could come up. Non-profits could have more labels and more storage for free. ProtonMail users could optionally add a small fee to support non-profits' digital security. Non-profits could have a "basic" plan, for example…

14. Add recovery phone number instead of email

    ...since the only one email is in use and can not to add any other recover email.

    Otherwise users have to register another email on different or in your service and making email names busy but unused (used for recovery purpose only).
    And somewhere in future after some period 3-6 months recovery email can be deleted and user can not to recover main email address password. So users have to remember sign in into that recovery email on constant basis. But if there will be 1-2 months delay to sign in into recovery email user can forget his password from recovery email...

    Please, let users to add recovery phone number to password recovery.

    The Lightning Network is in beta, but it allows for instant payments (no confirmations) and almost 0% fees, provided the user has a channel open. You already accept Bitcoin... and the Lightning Network is a major upgrade to way people will use BTC to make payments. If you do it soon, you will also get a P.R. boost, as it will inevitably be mentioned in the Bitcoin media.

    Accept Nano as a payment option. Bitcoin transactions fees are now too much, and it may take up to a few hours for a transaction to be confirmed. Unlike BTC there are NO fees for Rai, and transactions are nearly instant!

    A 'basic' price plan between 'free' and 'plus', that is a lot cheaper than the $/€4 per month 'plus' plan. The price covers the running costs of a 'free' account, and should provide less of a shock to the system of cash-strapped people used to free (albeit not private) email.

    The added features over the 'free' plan would be Protonmail Bridge, so emails & attachments can be downloaded, as the 500MB capacity fills very fast even with just standard usage, and the option to remove the signature "Sent with ProtonMail Secure Email" (default setting would be signature included). I would personally be happy to keep the signature to help spread the word about Protonmail.

20. Delete un-used email addresses.

    I have email addresses from a deleted domain. I can't delete the email addresses until I first remove all messages from each email address. The problem is I can't get into them in order to delete any messages.

    Would you please make it easier to delete old addresses.
