It's incredible. This should be a critical core requirement. It's necessary to enable to move away from Google's hold on the phone. Without this, my main contacts app will continue to be Google's because that's how I can make calls, texts, etc. and that means I neglect updating my Proton contacts, which makes using ProtonMail less convenient than a Google app. Meanwhile, Proton throws out far less useful (but very ethically questionable) features like AI. Proton, we need you to focus on completing the core, basic requirements of your existing apps and features. Instead of letting these core requirements languish for years, please support your clientele properly and JUST GET THEM DONE.

Proton, you're great but it's really hard to understand why this feature hasn't been one of the main priorities? It is ranked very high here and of all these Uservoice fora, this seems like a key strategic issue. It's not just about improving the user experience, this is a multiple-times-per-day need that actively prevents people from fully switching to your services. It maybe doesn't seem as big as some of the other apps that have been launched since this was planned but in some ways it's a more important step to accomplish.

ProtonMail offers encrypted contacts for both web and mobile applications (https://protonmail.com/blog/encrypted-contacts-manager/). Calendar and note functionality will be released in the future.

After all this time paying for a subscription, I still have to use Google on my Android phone because this essential feature is neglected by Proton. Proton has been saying for 7 almost 8 years that this had been started, meanwhile they roll-out other services that are less important strategically nor do they have the Uservoice votes. Proton needs to pay attention and value its customers.

Currently all three of these systems have feature parity; the gap is in terms of UI, and this is something that we have in our plans to close.

Today Proton announced the new VPN Stealth mode and wow, once again it's available for every platform except Linux. Linux as an afterthought when Proton ought to be supporting Linux just like the other major platforms. I'm a continually disappointed paying customer in this respect. I may need to stop subscribing.
