Dear Proton Team,
I hope this finds you well. I am a long-time supporter and user of Proton services, including ProtonMail and Proton Pass, and I deeply appreciate the commitment your team has to online security and privacy. Your dedication to safeguarding our digital lives is truly commendable.
I am writing to suggest the development of a new feature or extension that I believe would greatly enhance the Proton ecosystem and further solidify your reputation as leaders in the field of online security. Specifically, I would like to propose the creation of "Proton Bookmarks" or a similar tool that would allow us to manage our online bookmarks securely and privately.
Here's why I believe this feature is essential:
Privacy-First Approach: ProtonMail and Proton Pass have proven that user privacy is at the forefront of your design principles. By integrating bookmark management into the Proton ecosystem, users like myself can enjoy a seamless and secure online experience without relying on third-party browsers or extensions that may compromise our privacy.
Streamlined Integration: With Proton Bookmarks, users could store and manage their bookmarks within the Proton ecosystem, ensuring that these valuable pieces of information are treated with the same level of encryption and care as our passwords and identities.
Enhanced Security: Proton's reputation for robust security protocols could be extended to our bookmarked websites, offering protection against potential threats such as phishing attempts and malicious links.
Advanced Management Features: Proton Bookmarks could offer advanced features such as folder organization, tagging, and even the ability to add notes or comments to bookmarks, creating a comprehensive tool for users to keep their online lives well-organized.
Cross-Platform Integration: Extending Proton Bookmarks to mobile apps and browser extensions would ensure a consistent and secure experience across all devices, further simplifying the user's experience.
I understand that Proton Pass already allows users to add URLs and notes, but as it primarily serves as an identity manager, it lacks the robust management features necessary to replace a dedicated bookmark management solution.
I genuinely believe that the addition of Proton Bookmarks or a similar tool would greatly benefit Proton users like myself who value privacy and security above all else. It would not only provide an added layer of security but also streamline our online experiences by centralizing our digital lives within the Proton ecosystem.
I am more than willing to provide further input, participate in beta testing, or assist in any way I can to see this idea come to fruition. Please consider this suggestion, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the matter.
Thank you for your dedication to privacy and security on the internet. Keep up the fantastic work!
Sincerely,
Ashkan Rafiee
