I believe Rclone enables this, but that feature it's on beta and it uses an unnoficial API

This would be a tremendous achievement to ditch Google Drive, allowing to privately sync data from Proton to a local NAS.
Both HBS & MARS QNAP application should have native Proton support!

I would also add unlock feature to macOS desktop applications, like Proton Mail using the existing fingerprint functionality.
All MacBooks include biometric functionalities; it would be a great addition to have that.

Yes! This is much needed for both Synology and QNAP services; it would be the proper way to use that paid space on Drive on a private way.
I think this could leverage this idea https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/932839-proton-drive/suggestions/47684330-sync-with-qnap-nas if WebDAV was implemented it would automatically enable NAS systems to backup Proton Drive. Please do!
