Linux Client
Proton Drive really needs the ability to sync desktop files automatically. This post focuses on a Linux client for Proton Drive.

Please, please, please, can we have a Linux app for Proton Drive? I've switched over to the entire Proton suite of apps, but I can't fully migrate my cloud storage to Proton Drive until a Linux app is available.

Linux users are used to being an afterthought and having clients that are not quite as spiffy as Mac & Windows, but we'd still really appreciate having a Drive client. Proton could release one either in the form of a .deb + .rpm, or even something more universal like Flatpack or Snap. (I'm not a big fan of either of these, but I'll take what I can get.)
We may not be as large a market segment as the two mainstream OS's but we are an engaged group of people.

with Microsoft and google spying more and more we need to have the same functionality in linux. Please dedicate the same time to linux as windows.

It would be great to have a Linux app (can be CLI, I don't need a GUI) that syncs the drive with local storage. I'm using Dropbox now who have a Linux client, but it's proprietary so I cannot run it on Asahi Linux for instance. Or FreeBSD. Or any other open source OS for that matter. I think a great addition for a lot of your privacy-aware clientele.

Crazy that there's no interest from Proton in doing this.

Have transitioned from Windoze to Ubuntu over the last year (also a previous Mac user at times). Most apps work on Ubuntu including zoom -
Proton Drive is pretty much the only fly in the honey.
PS I have been a paying Proton user since 2018. Have really enjoyed the enhancements over that time.

I have to imagine that there is a large overlap between proton customers and Linux users. I'm floored that there isn't a Linux client yet.

I agree. For now I only use Proton for e-mail, but since everyone else is using Gmail I guess my e-mails are not private. I have separate VPN and cloud providers. I would pay more for Proton if I can share my calendars with family and friends similar to Google calendar, and I would probably upgrade my account if Proton Drive supported Linux 100 %. I think Proton should focus on that (syncing, backing up files, photo album) more than implementing a Google Docs clone.

I will not switch from my current cloud provider until Proton is up to par. That means native support for Linux.
Command line is good enough as long as I can easily get current status and solve potential issues. It must support syncing files from multiple computers to a shared folder, and it must support "snapshots" so I can backup my photos and videos now and then to be 100 % certain I will never lose personal things like these.

Would love this.
Currently the only cloud storage provider I can find who has FOSS client apps for all [major] operating systems (Android, iOS, Linux, Windows, OS X) is Mega.
Would also love for Cryptomator to work well with it, because who doesn't love copious amounts of encryption?

I have dumped One Drive and committed to Proton, it would be nice if Proton could commit to myself and other Linux users in return

I cancelled my subscription. If Linux isn't even on the roadmap, this isn't the home for me.

Utterly crazy (and very disappointing) that Proton Drive is missing a Linux client when Tresorit has had a great Linux client for years. Even more disappointing that Linux wasn't even mentioned on the new roadmap.
This is a critical issue for me, especially as I plan to migrate to Ubuntu from Windows 10 when support ends.
