Linux Client
Proton Drive really needs the ability to sync desktop files automatically. This post focuses on a Linux client for Proton Drive.

A lack of Linux support makes leaving the google sphere prohibitively difficult

Most important feature that needs to be prioritized.

I only use Linux and have not touched windows for almost a decade. In fact I cancelled my Dropbox subscription and subscribed to your Duo plan just for your Proton Drive (better privacy). It would be really helpful if you had a Linux app like Dropbox did so I don't have to constantly keep doing all my work in a web browser.

Me another Linux user paying for Unlimited plan yet on a long wait for a desktop sync client. It's such a shame that on reddit some people constantly claim Linux users are not important enough. Maybe we are the minority, but proportionally we are much more likely to subscribing to privacy-focused services. And the fragmentation excuse no longer holds!! There is Flatpak that runs any distro, or just provide a .deb for Ubuntu and GNOME and the community will take care of the rest.

I work in the security information business and I don't use regular clouds that register my activity or any legacy solution for my critical data.

A function that's absolutely essential if you want to switch to 100% proton use!
Make this your absolute priority :-) -

Downloading from the website is horrible, can't achieve more than 15KB/s. A native Linux client is a must.

I am looking into replacing my onedrive as well as other services with proton unlimited but this is what's holding me back. The day we get a Linux client for proton drive I will be purchasing 2 years of unlimited, until then you won't see a dollar.
Hopefully you acknowledge this soon, I'd prefer to just pay proton rather than 4 different companies for the same services.

Please let me sync Ubuntu with Proton Drive.
The only reason I use Protonmail is because I do not trust Windows, Google or Apple. -

How is this the 2nd most voted, yet it hasn't even been acknowledged?!

Since Windows 11 and it's further development is already and will even more be a survilliance tool, I see alot of people changing to Linux. Especially because the development of linux in the last years is tremendous! Props to the devs.
So that in mind it's a rational step to develop all Desktop Apps equally for Linux.
