Linux Client
Proton Drive really needs the ability to sync desktop files automatically. This post focuses on a Linux client for Proton Drive.

I will abandon every free cloud storage provider and will pay for Proton drive if I can have this feature.

This feature is necessary if I'm to invest in Proton Drive. Without this feature, the workflow is nonexistent, and the sole reason I'm not going to move forward with upgrading. There's no point in divesting from OneDrive or GoogleDrive unless this feature is integrated. I do all of my work from my MacBook and the inconvenience of downloading and uploading tons of files a day is ridiculous and defeats the purpose of a storage service. I need my files to be synced in real-time so that work is not lost should a program crash or something happen.

Like many others, the only reason for me not to upgrade to unlimited, is not having a supported Linux client for the Drive.

Literally the only thing keeping me from giving you all my money

I'd be happy if Proton Drive had a linux client that would allow me to mount my Proton Drive on my local filesystem. Having it with the ability to sync data would be nice but not absolutely necessary. I could use rsync to keep the various directories I wan backed up backed up on my Proton Drive and synced with the local directories they'd be backups of. There's a third party app that lets me mount my google drive account on my linux box,. I use rsync to keep directories backed up there, but I'd like to give up the google account.

I need this if I ever want to use proton drive properly. Manually dragging and dropping is... okay... but automatically syncing and being able to save files "directly" into the cloud (or into a synced folder) is worth so much with my workflows

a must have! especially if you are serious about all the open source talk :). Joke aside, I would really appreciate such an app and definitely migrate my existing tresor-drive solution.

A linux sync client is the only feature holding me back from upgrading to the unlimited plan.

That's the only reason I didn't upgrade my account yet, but I don't know if this could create some kind of security issue. Nevertheless, it's a must have feature.

The value in encrypted cloud storage really is as a central hub for data that users want to edit / view across their devices. Drag / drop / upload / download is not convenient or user friendly. I am paying for security AND convenience.

I would be subscribing to Proton Unlimited if it wasn't for the lack of a Dropbox like sync client on Linux

Visionary here. Come on Linux Drive for Linux is mandatory. What is the holdup? I have all these tools I pay for and cannot use them.
There is no excuse that there is not already a Linux AppImage already made for Drive to be able to sync.

This is what is needed to get rid of OneDrive and DropBox!

Why pay for a service if I can't access it from my work machines? This is critical to me.

Absolutely essential. Essentially unusable without automatic syncing via a desktop client.

My operating system is Linux, this application is a vital tool for me, managing all my files from the browser takes time; I have to download and re-upload
