Drive Linux
Please please release a linux sync client. I am a paying user and this entire feature is almost completely unusable for me. Please remind yourself where you come from and release also features for the community that supports you from the early proton times!

Please feel free to undo your vote if this is not something you want included in Proton Drive.

Proton Sheets - Additional Date Formats
Currently it appears the only possible Date format for Date types in Proton Sheets is mm/dd/yyyy, which is US centric.
Would appreciate additionally including other date arrangements, perhaps:
dd/mm/yyyy (Common globally)
dd/mm/yy
yyyy/mm/dd (ISO 8601)
dd/mmm/yyyyWould suggest dd/mm/yyyy given that it's arguably the most common format globally and yyyy-mm-dd given that it's the ISO 8601 international standard used heavily in software around the world should be priorities 👍

Shared photo library
As a family, we love the Google Photos feature of having a shared photo library that syncs instantly from our Android phones. Proton Drive should implement more of these Google Photos features, but with encryption. We need this joint photo sharing feature on Android for our photo libraries. We do not want to choose albums each time again, but an automatic sync feature among partners.

Photos bidirectional sync
It's great that one's photos can be "backed up". But, photos needs to have bidirectional syncing. An example: if one deletes a photo on one's phone, it should be deleted in Proton Drive/Photos. I applaud all of the wonderful improvements in Proton Drive/Photos, but to be fully functional this feature is needed. Of course, none of the features are available to Linux users as there is NO PROTON DRIVE CLIENT available for Linux.

Location settings for Sheets (date, numbers, currency...)
It would be great to be able to define the location settings in each Proton Sheet file with a list of countries so that the date, number, currency, etc. formats correspond to the selected country.

Make photos searchable in Photos Section
Some recommended sorting axes:
Date (by year, by month, by day)
File Extension
File Name (not as helpful as the previous 2)Other EXIF data (not necessary but would be nifty!)
Location
Camera TypeI've recently moved all my photos from OneDrive over to ProtonDrive using the Photos section. I have thousands of photos since 2010 and it would be extremely helpful to be able to sort through my photos in some way. Even just a bar on the side of the photos when scrolling, so you can skip to a certain year or month. But ideally a search bar…

Allow editing on Proton Sheets for Mobile
Proton Sheets works well on Laptop/Desktop but when viewing via the Proton Drive app on mobile (I have a Google Pixel 6a) the message "Screen too small for editing"... is displayed.
Flipping to landscape allows editing but the keyboard takes up the whole screen so it's obvious Proton Sheets was designed only only to be used on larger devices at this stage.
Would be good if work were completed to enable editing and generally update the mobile app so that Proton Sheets is truly functional via mobile.

Organize Photos
It would be great, and frankly necessary, feature to be able to organize photos:
To be able to filter and preview with different criteria (Assigned album, location, device, etc.), and not only to see them listed by date.
E.g. Add a button/slider like - Exclude pictures assigned to Albums from Photos. So a user can easily filter "unassigned" photos. - If I assign photos to an album, I know where to find them - Current setup is confusing because I don't know if I added all of the photos I want to an album. When backing up folders from mobile…

Markdown support for Drive
I like the document editor in drive (even though it misses some features). But I dont like the fact it only works online, and local representations are only links to the online document (editor).
I like to work offline, and be able to work with simple text files. I like to write al sorts of documents as markdown in vim. Markdown is great: it can be 'rendered' as something rich-texty but it is also perfectly readable as plain text. Best of both worlds...
I would love support for this workflow in Drive.454 votes -
Preview and open .odt OpenDocument Text files
Related to being able to export Proton Docs as .odt files (https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/932839-proton-drive/suggestions/48607370-proton-docs-download-to-odt-feature), it should be possible to preview and open .odt OpenDocument Text files in Proton Docs. Many people choose OpenDocument files as a free and open source alternative to MS Word and Google Docs files. It’s the default file format in LibreOffice, Nextcloud Office, and Collabora. It’s the option that people turn to when they’re tired of being overcharged by Microsoft to open or write a document. It’d be invaluable to have support in Proton Docs for these files.

Create dedicated photo app
I know that the current plan is to fully integrate the photos feature into the Proton Drive app.
However, I think it would be more logical to have a dedicated app for photos and one for documents in general. With combined apps, I fear that the app either gets overloaded or features will be missing because it would get too crowded otherwise. The photos app also needs wayy better performance than the current app (at least on android, the photos feature is very slow and misses a lot of crucial features, like face detection, editing or a map to show…208 votes -
AI photo finder
It would be great if there was a privacy friendly (read: on device) replacement for the facial recognition-based photo organization in non-privacy respecting apps.
One thing I found useful in Google Photos for instance that I've missed is the ability to see a selection of faces of people that I know and then to find pictures I've taken of them. Currently if I know the photo I'm looking for is one of my father ... I'm often out of luck trying to find it in a sea of photos.
Facial recognition technology does bother me for a number of reasons…

WebDAV Access for ProtonDrive (Linux)
Dear Proton Team,
I’d like to share my feedback regarding Lumo and using ProtonDrive on Ubuntu. Below is a summary of our discussion:
- WebDAV Access for ProtonDrive I attempted to use ProtonDrive via WebDAV on Ubuntu to improve usability. Despite enabling Beta access, I couldn’t find a WebDAV option in ProtonDrive settings. Efforts to use davfs2 or rclone failed because the domain dav.proton.me couldn’t be resolved.
- Alternative Solutions ProtonMail Bridge: Installed successfully but lacks direct ProtonDrive integration. Session Buddy: A Chrome extension to save ProtonDrive sessions, reducing frequent logins. However, I’m uncomfortable relying on this workaround due to security concerns…

Folders in Photo Album
I love that you can put photos from e.g. one trip in one Album. I would love it even more, if I could further sort them in different folders (i.e. Museum, Beach, trip to city XY).

Sync directories android/linux/windows/drive and allow backup apps like Whastapp, Signal, Threema
This could be achieved by syncing a directory in android with proton drive.
Syncing a folder is essential. For instance I could sync some documents, books, keepass databases and other files to have a shared directory between my computer and my phone and having all those files also OFFLINE for instance when traveling.
An option to backup public storage data from apps such as: Whatsapp, Signal, Threema, etc is also essential to stop using Google Services (dgrive) to backup those apps. I think the private storage backup is not possible.

Add ProtonDrive to the ProtonMail Linux app the same way as ProtonCalendar
It would be nice to be able to open ProtonDrive through the Linux ProtonMail app through the "Proton applications" icon button. On Linux I currently have to open the drive in a browser and log in which is inconvenient.

Allow selection of email alias for Proton Drive shared downloads
When we share a file from Proton Drive, it reveals the account primary email address. E.g. "Digital signature verified. This file was securely uploaded by email@proton.me". Allowing the use of an alias would help maintain privacy.

Page Breaks!
This has been posted before, but always bundled with other features, and I really want to stress how important this SINGLE change is for many many novelists, academics, etc.
Page breaks are crucial to a huge number of people who use word processors/electronic documents, as is the ability to force a page break (for a new chapter, etc.)
Right now I have to keep doing print previews just to see what page things are on, and there is absolutely no way to control where a page break occurs. I will be forced to keep using Gdocs for my novels until…
