  1. Custom plans

Instead of having a Plus, with a fixed number of custom domains and adresses, let users build their own paid plan.
Some may only want more space, without the other extras, or something else

  2. Pay for services with BAT

You allow for tips and monthly contributions with the Brave browser's Basic Attention Tokens, so would it be possible to actually pay for services with BATs?. It might not yet be technically possible, but just wondering.

  3. Multiple Two Factor Methods

It would be great to have backups for multi-factor methods like YubiKeys or TOTP. This is offered in other services like Tutanota.

  6. Crypto payment method besides Bitcoin

Bitcoin and ethereum have way too high of transaction fees for them to be a good method of payment. I ask that you accept a crypto currency that has cheaper transaction fees. My bitcoin transaction fee costed me ~$14. Litecoin, Monero, Binance Smart chain. Anything with reasonable transaction fees please.

  7. Provide option for 2FA that hassles me less often

Having to grab my phone and get a code from Authy every time I want to check my mail is a major PITA. Google only asks for your second-factor authentication

    A) every 30 days or
    B) when you use a new app to login or
    C) when you use a new machine to login

B and C are obviously required. Now, Google's 30-day period before reauthenticating might be too long, but I think users should be able to select how often then want to be required to provide a second-factor code. Allow users to require 2FA every time if they…

  8. Gulden payment

Gulden is a crypto currency designed for payment.

Gulden in its current state has the ability to handle 40 transactions per second, but can easily be scaled as needed.

Gulden on the other hand uses an average transaction fee of NLG 0.01 (€ 0.0020 +/-) irrespectively of the traffic on the Gulden network.

Gulden payments take now around 15 minutes but it will be reduced to 150 seconds (with the Prime I update of the network).

Nocks.com allows merchants to directly convert a payment into Gulden in Euro at the current market price.

The merchant is no longer subject to…

  9. IMAP/SMTP for FREE in the basic version

I hope the users will be able to download e-mail (using IMAP/SMTP) unless paying for premium. This is crucial in my opinion (to be able to use the service longterm). If not, 500 Mb becomes rediculous after some time...

  10. Cloud storage plans

I think it would be nice if you could have the option to pay for the same plan but with an increased storage. For example an Unlimited plan, but with 2TB of storage instead of just 500GB.

  11. All session logout cmd and session time limit expiry

I'd like a command facility where we can log out of all open sessions, similar to that google offers. I'd also like a session expiration timelimit option... i've left my protonmail account open in a browser and come back several days later to hit refresh only to find that it refreshes fine without requesting login details again.

Personally, for a service that is about privacy retention.. these seem like massive oversights and at the very least a session inactivity logout feature should be in place... think along the lines of payment gateways and how sessions expire if you're inactive for…

  12. 2FA with Yubico Authenticator

I use Yubico Authenticator, it works the same as Google Auth, but I noticed that I can use only one Yubikey, an improvement would be to allow multiple keys.

  13. Paid Plans Gift Cards

I think you guys should release gift cards for protonmail so people can upgrade to the paid versions and the ones who cant get a credit card to upgrade to the paid plans can benefit using the gift cards or allow prepaid credit cards for upgrades

  14. Familly offer/bundle

    Hi,

I have a ProtonMail Plus account, and happy with that.
My wife is also using Protonmail (thanks to me :) ) but only the Free account.
She would love to have the Plus features, but the price tag is high, especially when your are in the same household...

Is there a way to offer a "family bundle"?

The perfect bundle for me would be a Plus account, where another person can share your storage plan (I have 10 GB, so let's say we split in two or I decide how to allocate space), but the other person has a…

  15. It would be a great help to allow payments for a 1 or 2 year plan in monthly installments, rather than 1 lump sum. Please consider?

Spending close to €200 for a 2 year unlimited plan in one payment right now is difficult for many people, and I believe you would get much more uptake if you allowed purchase using a monthly installment method.

I, for one, was about to buy your Proton Unlimited package until I discovered that I'd have to spend almost €200 in one go to get it.

Offering a monthly payment subscription option is a sound business model in these times of financial strain, so please can I ask that you at least consider the idea?

    Thank you!

  16. Ability to merge an existing free account into a paid account

I had two free emails, I made one a paid email. Last time I checked I am unable to merge the existing free email into the paid account. I do not want to delete my free email because it has many contacts.

  17. white label protonmail

I would love to be able to brand the login for my company protonmail account and unify the experience by letting my employees log in to their email by going to mail.mybrand.com

Or to quote one of your main competitors:

"When you order the whitelabel upgrade for your Premium account you can activate the Tutanota login on your own domain (a sub-domain), change the look of Tutanota according to your needs (e.g. corporate identity) and create contact forms for your clients. If you send confidential messages to external recipients, those recipients are also directed to your whitelabel domain."

  18. Separate Notification Email and Recovery Email Addresses

Please separate the notification email and recovery email fields, so that it is possible to set each one individually. For example, a user may wish to set up a notification email address that cannot initiate account recovery. Another user may also wish to set up a recovery email address that does not receive notifications for incoming emails.

That would be useful to use with a less-trustworthy email provider or a less-secure account, so that users can receive notifications without worrying about a malicious actor resetting the user's ProtonMail password from the notification email account. Thanks.

  19. Aliases without login option

The idea to have aliases is submitted many times already. What I would like is that it is not possible to login using an alias and the account password.
Currently, it is possible to login both with the .ch "username" and the .com "username", one of which is an alias. The more combinations of username and login, the higher the chances someone breaks the combination...
